Food is really good and rolls are always bigger than I expect. Bluefin roll, chicken karage, and their miso soup are my goto orders.

The set bento boxes for lunch are really worth the piece. The quality of the food and the friendly staff walked my friend and I through the menu to get the best dishes! I would say that wave sushi and sake really is a hidden gem here in Chicago!

After passing by a few times we decided to pop in for happy hour. While the happy hour deals weren't spectacular compared to the regular price, the food was very tasty and a good value with or without the deal! Since the weather was nice we opted for the patio, but the inside is sleek and perfect for a date night. We tried the Blue Samurai Saketinis since they were on the happy hour menu and I was pleasantly surprised with how balanced it was! Normally when I see blue curaçao I brace myself for an ungodly amount of sweetness but that was not a problem here! For food we opted for the crispy tofu and karaage don from the happy hour menu and the Negi Hamachi from the regular menu. The crispy tofu was awesome with a good amount of ginger and mushrooms giving it a lot of flavor. The Karage Don is also the perfect portion for a person for dinner and had great mayo! We were also surprised with how generous the fish was in the Negi Hamachi, thinking we would get just a tiny bit for how cheap the roll was. Overall a great little place with friendly service, beautiful and tasty food, and a great location just steps from the Blue Line!

If you're looking for a new Japanese spot, this place is worth trying! It's not your typical sushi or Japanese spot, but the flavors truly are creative and tasty. I had the kalbi don rice bowl and I was not expecting such a creative bowl. It was tender beef short rib marinated in a sweet BBQ-style sauce, with mushrooms on top. It felt like eating an American BBQ-style beef but then with rice and mushrooms. I don't think I've ever really had any Japanese food like that. It just made me want to go back and try more dishes that they've thought up. The sushi rolls were great too!

Great taste, but not the best display. I went with a couple of friends looking for a place to enjoy drinks and dinner and Wave certainly delivered on flavor and service. I will say that the food and drink itself looked a bit cheap for the price point it was at. In my opinion, the sake-tini tasted like a regular fruit punch and liquor combo. If you're looking for a drink, I recommend just a regular sake to share. I would come back, but not before trying out all of the other unique places Bucktown has to offer. -AT

Just tried out this new neighborhood gem the other night and was more delicious than my expectations! Went for a birthday celebration with a group of friends and the service was great! Also would be a cute place for date night. They have a fully loaded bar and great cocktails including the lychee julep and clover club. The truffle shiitake roll is loaded with flavor and the chicken karage and shishito peppers are great appetizers to order. The carpaccio is fresh and tasty. A must try!

Had a great time here! Sat on their patio; service was great. Ginger salad hit the spot. Solid happy hour options. Good spot if you're local and craving sushi!

Started with Sapporo and hot sake, it was a good size. The madai chili had an amazing flavor with a kick of heat, not too hot. The service was great, checking in on how the food was or what else I may have needed. The ambiance was cute and quaint, my favorite part was actually the music!! It would be anywhere from 80s-00s music done in a light jazz. Good spot for a date or friends to meet up.

Hands down some of the best sushi we have had in Chicago! The options were amazing, and the fish had amazing flavor and it was fresh. The service was fast and the atmosphere is great. The truffle tuna is out of this world!!!
